Testing and sparring at Innovation House helped TEGnology take a big step forward

After five instructive years at Innovation House, during which the company received significant assistance in taking the next steps in its development, TEGnology has now moved out.

- Testing our technology in practice at Alfa Laval has been extremely valuable for us. We have had the opportunity to experiment, learn and adjust in a realistic environment without taking major risks, says TEGnology CEO Hao Yin.

TEGnology utilises unused process heat, converting it into electricity to power the next generation of IoT devices. During its time at Innovation House, the company has had the chance to refine its technology, trial solutions in practice and, most importantly, gain a better understanding of the market and its customers.

Solutions have been strengthened through practice and collaboration

At Innovation House, TEGnology tested its solutions on Alfa Laval's plate heat exchangers, among other things, which had a significant impact on the development of its products.

For TEGnology, development was not just about technology. Innovation House asked Hao Yin and his team a number of relevant questions, helping them to gain a clearer understanding of the commercial potential. The sparring has made the company better able to understand customer needs and define a clear position in a competitive market.

It has also provided a springboard to new markets

The growth house model at Innovation House is about helping start-ups mature so that they can compete more effectively in the commercial market. In TEGnology's case, the development has been remarkable.

- TEGnology has great potential because the company has some very specialised competencies that will be in high demand, both now and in the future. We are pleased that we have had the opportunity to help the company move forward, says Henrik Røssel, Innovation House's director.

He highlights the constructive collaboration between Innovation House and TEGnology.

- We have had a really good sparring relationship with Hao and his employees, including discussing which industries are most relevant for their solution. They have developed some fantastic products that are extremely relevant for companies looking to utilise their surplus heat.

Strong community among entrepreneurs

One significant advantage of being part of Innovation House is the community of other entrepreneurs. Although the companies work with widely different technologies, they face similar challenges. This creates an environment where knowledge sharing comes naturally.

TEGnology has discussed specific market opportunities and go-to-market strategies, as well as practical experiences with product maturation, partnerships, scaling up and identifying strengths and weaknesses. This has given them a sense of being part of a larger network rather than being alone in the development process. The years at Innovation House have therefore been of great importance to TEGnology, strengthening its technology, market knowledge, and strategic direction.

Although TEGnology has now moved on from Innovation House, its relationship with Alfa Laval remains strong. We are now located just 800 metres from Alfa Laval in Søborg, and both parties wish to maintain close cooperation.”
